ECE School

I am Ms. Brittani Qassem and will be guiding KG 1. I have completed my undergraduate work at North Hennepin (an affiliate of the University of Minnesota) in USA.  I have also completed my teaching certification with CACHE in London, UK.  This last year, along with my colleagues, I have completed my Montessori training through Virginia, USA.  Previously, I was a substitute teacher in the Fridley, MN US as well as a Year 1 teacher in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.  This is my fifth year at English Modern School Al-Khor.  It is an honor and a privilege working with and learning from students in the early years!

My teaching Assistant is Ms. Sumayya Abass. This is her fourth year working with English Modern School in the ECE department.  She previously worked on her degree in Commerce from the Calicut University in India.  In the classroom we work together as a team and the students relay on both Ms. Sumayya and me to guide them to be better people and to learn the everyday skills that they will need throughout their lives!

I believe the first experiences in school lay the foundation for a child’s love of learning. We will be working hard at developing your child’s life skills.  We want your child to explore who they are as individuals and therefore encourage responsibility and respect towards themselves, others, and their surroundings.

Ms. Sumayya and I look forward to working with you and your child this year and assisting in developing the greatest investment of our future; our children

Miss Jess is my teaching assistant, she have a diploma in Bachelor degree in nursing . This is her second year working as a teacher assistant at EMS Al Khor. Our education philosophy is to identify the needs of each student and assist them in becoming responsible, independent learners. We believe that if a child can do, they must. Helping students to take responsibility for their actions, their things and the environments around them helps them to become Global Citizens who are able to effectively integration into society in a meaningful and positive way..

We believe in teaching through play and in a fun way and see mistakes as learning opportunities. I also believe in working  as a team with the teacher, student and parent support.

“ A Teacher Takes A Hand,Open A Mind,And Touches  A Heart”.

Stories, letters, numbers, sharing blocks, puzzles, play, paint and play-dough make up the kindergarten world. Imagination and creativity are everywhere. The process is more important than the product, and learning is accomplished by doing, touching, and experiencing.

As a team we aim to provide a safe, comfortable, stimulating, fun, and educational environment to achieve the developmental milestones necessary for a kindergarten student.

My name is Marilou Hisoler-Fernando, I graduated from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Education with additional units in Masters of Education and just recently as a certified Montessori guide. I worked as a secretary for the president of Educational Research and Development Foundation for four years, a French organized foundation that caters to less fortunate children of the Philippines before I decided to teach.  I have taught in the Philippines for 14 years, 3 years in a nursery in Doha, and this is my fifth year in English Modern School, Al Khor.

Ms. Radhika Shyamini has been my teacher assistant for 3 years at EMS Al Khor. She is a graduate of Early Childhood Development and Primary Education from  JMC College Kandy Campus at Sri Lanka and has worked for more than 2 years as a primary teacher in her country.

We know that a strong partnership with parents will make a great difference in the child’s education. We believe that in order to be successful in school, your children need support from both home and school. Also, we believe that children need to be encouraged to express themselves through verbal communication, text/pictures, play and through art.  Children learn through manipulation of objects in their environment, creative play and discovery of the world around them.  It is through group play, role modeling, and through supportive teaching that children grow socially and emotionally.

I’m Ms. Lilia and I am a KG-2A teacher. This will be my fifth year at EMS.

I enjoy teaching, as it gives me a chance to work with many students and to improve their understanding and love of the English language. My dream is to continue to share my passion for learning, my love for students, and my enthusiasm and dedication as a teacher.
